Clean difficult vases- Minty Clean!

PrintI'm a freak when it comes to clean vases... not that I'm super anal retentive (although I've been accused)... but I do like a clean vase (and buckets) for my Flowers...Vases that have stains- contain bacteria that will shorten the life of my flowers... and hard water stains are unsightly... and detract from the flowers...No one wants to sit down at a table.. and see a dirty vase in the centerpiece... (many people choose OPAQUE vases for this reason... ) but I have a rather large (some people have used the term "Hoarder") of flower vases...It's my passion, hobby, and my work... So I need to have an wide assortment... heheheh! But occasionally I have a few favorites... that have very Narrow Necks... and those Narrow necked Vases...are a bugger to keep clean...But my Grandpa - Carnation Joe gave me this little tip... and I use it all the time...Fill the troublesome Narrow Necked- Dirty Vase with Lukewarm water...Add Denture Cleaning tablets (whole or Broken up... with some necks... I have to break them up into tiny pieces)...Let Stand Overnight...Rinse with Hot Water... VOILA... a clean vase...And if you have stubborn stains... just rinse and repeat the process...It's also a really great idea to rinse them thoroughly after use... or do this immediately after using... letting them sit and dry with old water... really is gross... and it makes the process much harder...
