"Auto correct on my phone is awful...Herbert stem = gerbera straw."

"Lose the net. I never like mine when using a net. It costs more and is more work in the end. Instead, wrap the ball in waterproof tape to hold it together, then use a Herbert stem straw (or fat straw) and poke a hole through the center. Remove and reinsert a new straw and cut so it's flush with the foam. put ribbon through the hole and secure it on the other side using a sturdy wood pick. You can add ribbon to the bottom for streamers or leave it for a tidy look. Put your flowers in and you're good to go! "

"What I charge is case by case. If I have a huge wedding and I need to hire 5 people for it, it's much higher than one where I need one or two people for. Figure out your costs for delivery and mark it up to a point where you feel comfortable. I was charging to little for delivery and pick up and would get frustrated when things took too long and I was losing money. I have a much better attitude now that I'm still making money when a crisis happens...which is just about every wedding. :)"

"I use foam and a lomy plastic tray. I use pilsner vases and a 5 inch tray fits perfectly inside. I think J has a video on making them in the Eiffel towel vases with a gala bouquet holder. I can't remember what it's called, but some digging in the archives should bring it up. "

"You can also make a paint of 50% white Elmer's glue and 50% water. Paint it on the petals where it meets the stem. I haven't done this with poppies but have with other delicate flowers and it works! Dries clear too! "

Luanne’s Birthday

My sweet Aunt Luanne got in a horrible car accident Christmas morning on her way to church.  Her new, month old car was totaled.  She had just gotten surgery on her neck, and this accident aggrivated the pain.  To make matters worse, all of the pharmacies were closed and the hospital couldn’t fill her perscription for pain medication.  We normally all go over to her house for Christmas dinner, play games and have fun until the early morning.  She always looks forward to it.  This year all the food had to be packed up and brought over to my moms house.  It was still fun, but I know Luanne looks forawrd to having it at her house every year.

Her birthday is New Years Eve.  Awesome, right?  Em, not so much.  Her thunder is always stolen and people are always busy on her birthday.  This year I thought I’d do something extra special for her birthday to try to cheer her up.  This is what I came up with:  Motzart Callas, Veri-flora certified orange finesse roses, mini green cymbidium orchids, red freesia, and aspidistra.
