"We had the same frustration. What works good for us now is doing a "pre-consultion" over the phone before we meet in person with the bride. From the pre consult we get a good idea of basic information such as colors and theme, ect. We then email them a list of flowers we feel would fit within their colors and theme to give them a good start on what they might like. We also schedule a time and date to meet and let them know what information we will need from them.(we ask them to bring inspiration pictures, color swatches and their budget so we know exactly what flowers to recommend.) Almost always the brides will email us back with their budgets so when we meet with them in person it makes it much easier."
