This week on Fun with Flowers and J... I'm making Terrariums with my sister Cindy in Nebraska! Cindy and I worked together in our family store for almost 20 years... she was always in charge of the plants and has an Awe-inspiring "Green Thumb"...I always thought my sister created the coolest terrariums... and throughout out my travels I visit a lot of flower shops and nurseries... but I could never find a terrarium that was as cool as the ones my sister created...For a while I thought maybe I was just remembering them differently... and perhaps they weren't as cool as I "remembered"... you know how you can really build something up in your mind... so I wanted to take the JTV Crew back to Nebraska and make terrariums with my sister... to see if I really did remember them correctly!Well, needless to say... my sister is the Queen of Terrariums... and I did remember them correctly and she really does make the coolest terrariums. I sent in TerraGlas containers from Garcia Group... lidded 100% post consumer recycled glass bubble bowls, ginger jars... and my sister added her magical Terrarium Touch to them!As I watched her create the Terrariums... I asked her what the secret is behind making these Magical Landscapes inside the Terrariums? And in true "big sister" fashion... she gave me two secrets to success...1. Pretend you're tiny... right down inside and create a landscape that you might enjoy... with stairs, multi-levels, interesting plants, rock formations, sand beaches... you get the idea...2. Don't forget to add the LOVE...  you know... we've heard it said a million times... but my sister loves making terrariums and each one is an expression of herself, her talent and creativity...  perhaps that's why her terrariums are ALL that I remember and so much more...Cindy adds the Love... to her Terrariums... it goes in with every drop of soil, every pebble, stone and step... Always Remember... make sure to add the LOVE!!!
