Chicken Wire??... What's Old is New again!

I've been in the flower industry my whole life... and I started out in a Family Flower and Greenhouse business... so I've seen and done a great deal of "flower related" things... and I've watched even more Trends, Fads and "old time" mechanics come and go...Over the years... I've seen "corsage gluing" techniques take over from wire and taping.. I watched as our Greenhouses went from COAL Heat to Gas and Electric... I've seen the introduction of New and Improved Flower Nutrients and enjoyed Scientific studies that make our flowers last longer...So I'm fascinated by the new found interest in Sage Techniques... and 'vintage mechanics'... and here's where I'll talk about "chicken wire"... or Hex or Poultry Netting... if you prefer Martha's reference!I spent a good 5-6 years of my flower career using chicken wire... in mache' containers for sympathy and event work... I would cut chicken wire and fit it into the containers... almost daily... and if we were really busy... several times a day...I would have blisters on my fingers from cutting the chicken wire... and wear gloves to keep from scratching myself on the sharp edges... and of course I got my Tetanus booster every year to prevent getting lock jaw. All part of the regime... of using Chicken Wire for Flower Design...So I'm interested... what other "Vintage Flower Techniques" are you interested in seeing come back... or maybe interested in learning more about... I'm thinking about "hosting some classes" and including some "Popular" Vintage Techniques!Let me know... and we'll see if we can have some "Fun"!!!!
