J’s Favorite Cocktail Recipe – “Flowers Grave”… Cheers!
Flower Cocktail Hour Recipe: Flowers Grave Cocktail
Today I have a very herbal tasting cocktail that a bartender in Cleveland once served that I LOVED and he was kind enough to share the recipe with me…it’s called Flowers Grave!
Fresh Lime Juice is key to the Flowers Grave Cocktail- and I love the ‘sport’ of squeezing my own fresh limes… it’s similar to flower arranging- it gives me a little zen time- and of course the results are well worth the effort!

I love taking the time to squeeze fresh lime juice- it’s a moment of zen for me… plus the results are well worth the effort!
Flowers Grave
1 oz. Buffalo Trace Bourbon
3/4 oz. Chartreuse
3/4 oz. Dry Vermouth
3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Shake, strain into a rocks glass
I loved this recipe so much- that the bartender was kind enough to write it down on a cash register receipt- that I have carried in my wallet ever since… I frequently pull it out when I’m at a bar that has the secret ingredient “Chartruese”… and ask the bartender to make me a “Flowers Grave”.

Indeed- J does carry this wonderful recipe in his billfold… here’s the proof!
My Flower Friend Jan Clark sent me the vase- that accompanies this week’s #FlowerCocktailHour recipe for Flowers Grave… and we made an At Home With Flowers Show about creating it… and show that lovely vase in a bit more detail- Jan is wonderful antique curator- and she found this wonderful Victorian Style vase with tiny glass leaves- it was perfect for the Flowers Grave cocktail. You can watch the episode of At Home with Flowers- with this vase- at this link!

it’s True- that Flowers Grave is my favorite cocktail- and while it packs quite a punch- I was anxious to share it on “Life in Bloom!’
