Easy Thorn Removal - Trick!

The Flower Stand- By J SchwankeI'm a florist... and an avid flower arranger... I give LIVE demonstrations, I teach classes... I love flowers... and I LOVE Roses... but one of the hazards of my passion and profession can be thorns... Some of the most beautiful varieties of roses have an incredible amount of thorns... I took this picture during a flower farm visit in Amsterdam...it's almost like this rose has thorns- on it's thorns... it Thorn-a-rrific! WOW!The worst part is when you get stuck with a thorn and it breaks off... deep in your thumb or finger... and it's stuck... I was taught by my Grandmother and Mother to go after them with a needle... they used to do it for me as a kid... but then I got up the courage to go after them myself... It Hurts... I won't try to be a polly-anna... and say it doesn't... nothing hurts more than that little tiny thorn - sometimes they are really small.. and hard to expel... but then I learned this piece of magic...A Trick so unexpected... with an unexpected tool... you'll probably not even believe me...But here it is... and the next time you get a thorn... try this trick... and you'll see what I mean...Rose Thorn RemovalTo quickly remove a rose thorn from your finger....Head to the Silverware drawer... that's right!!Firmly Press the edge of teaspoon toward the endof the thorn that is embedded the deepest into the skin...The Resulting Flat-Even Pressure will force the thornup and to the surface... where you can safely removeit with tweezer or the flick of a sterile pin...It's almost like magic...
