You should cut your flowers to be the length desired for the height, width and depth of your design. The stems should be free of leaves at the bottom where the stems will set below the water line or where they will be inserted into the flower foam. A fun short cut is to cut stems short and arrange them in a low glass cube or a few smaller vases and place those vases them throughout your home or office.
