We are grateful for the Underwriters of J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom. Since 2019, the dedication and generosity of our Underwriters has kept the show on the air, and allows the production of 14 new episodes annually. Without the support of our Generous Underwriters, “Life in Bloom” could not exist – it’s that simple. Their importance cannot be overstated.

J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom is broadcast over 7,000 times per month, on 415 stations in over 170 markets in the USA – including all 50 states. There are 96 episodes in rotation and the show is broadcast on 96% of the stations (including the Top 100) nationwide.
I want to be clear, honest, and transparent about the distribution process. All episodes of J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom are, for all intents and purposes, DONATED to Public Television Stations. The series is offered by the American Public Television’s APT Exchange – a program that offers TV shows to local stations, free of charge – meaning that NO station pays for licensing or distribution. Our distributor, American Public Television, charges a licensing and distribution fee, which is paid for by The Life in Bloom Foundation, not individual public television stations. The Life in Bloom Foundation is a 501c3 Non-Profit Flower Education Foundation that is funded by our Underwriters, and by donations from Individuals and Businesses, in all amounts, large or small.
Being a part of the APT Exchange - is a strategy that has led to the Incredible Success of “Life in Bloom” on Public Television, PBS, PBS.org, PBS Passport, and Create TV. Given that the show is “paid for” by the Foundation, and offered free to local public television stations, it is scheduled for broadcast with great frequency. Currently, the series has 5 National Time Slots each week on Create TV (Sunday at 11am, Tuesday at 6:30am, 8:30am and 2:30pm and Wednesday at 4:30am). In addition, there are 415 Time Slots on Local Public Television Stations across the country! Each station programs the show in accordance with what works best in their individual market. In addition, CalFlowers provide grant funding for Location Film Productions, and they and many members provide Flowers for “The Flower Stand” – which are seen not only in episodes of “Life in Bloom,” but also in flower education Videos and Documentaries on uBloom.com.

The Life in Bloom Foundation, also provides CalFlowers members with Free Flower Educational FULL Access Memberships to uBloom.com. Additionally, Professional Educators in Floriculture, Horticulture and Agriculture programs at the College, Community College, High School, Junior High and Middle School facilities across the country are also provided with Free uBloom memberships. Currently more than 300 educators participate with this free resource.
