What do I do with my flowers after I get them?- Flowers 101

Go home! Getting your flowers into water and into a cool environment is very important to maintaining the freshness of your flowers. If possible, place a bucket of cool flower nutrient water in your car when traveling to your flower seller. Placing the flowers in the water for the ride home can prevent them from dehydrating.

Many grocery stores now have small water holders for your flowers so they can remain hydrated while you shop. Taking a bucket of water to the florist, flower market, grocery store or farmers market is a good idea!

A professional florist may place the stems of your flowers into a water pack or piece of fresh flower foam to prevent dehydration. Flowers love water so getting your flowers into water as quickly as possible is best.
