Flower Power- More than Ever!

It's been an interesting week to say the least... and Thank Goodness I'm in the Flower Business!That line... kept playing on repeat... as this week progressed...I was in Nebraska this week... doing my 18th Annual Holiday Seminars for Campbell's Nursery...and I got the chance to see my Parents (the Famous Matching Couple)... This seminar series is something I have had the pleasure of giving for nearly 2 decades... the first week of November...We have proudly had families of 5 Generations start their holiday with my Holiday Seminars... and this tradition continues to grow and be part of the way people in Lincoln begin the holiday! Interesting enough... several times it's included Election Day...I was scheduled to give LIVE Presentations - on November 9-10-11, 2016... something we scheduledA LONG time ago... and it was anyone's guess as to how the election would go... PLEASE keep reading... as this isn't a blog about the election/politics but rather... it's about the Power of Flowers!I had no less than 2 dozen people over the course of 3 days... pull me aside... both before and after my presentation... to thank me for "coming to Campbells'... for inspiring them and for making them feel happy and making them laugh"... "we needed this" was also a frequent Comment... and I'm honored that it was bestowed on me and my event...I promised one thing at the beginning of each of my shows... (and that promise is true at every one of my presentation)... "Tonight we're going to talk about Fun Projects, Pretty Colors- Emerging Trends, Interesting Plants- Happy Holidays-Thanksgiving, Christmas and most importantly BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS"...This week- my opening statement was met with Thunderous Applause... and audible cheers... There's nothing Like having an Audience cheer for you... BEFORE you even get started... Just ask Stevie Nicks! hehehe!The hundreds of people that attended my presentations in Lincoln... didn't come to hear about Politics... they came to hear about Flowers- it was the opportunity  to spend time with friends and family... to laugh, learn and even to "escape"... for just an hour... and that hour spent having FUN with FLOWERS (and J) ... was rewarding for everyone!My Point is that Flowers are Powerful... We know from Proven Research... that Flowers make people happy... Flowers make them feel less depressed... Flowers cause people enlarge their circles of friends... Flowers are truly Powerful! I'm reminded of that often... we need more Flowers... for more people.. more often... (that was my Dad's Mantra) and I've adopted it as too...Take for example... our recent PETAL It Forward Event... in Downtown Grand Rapids with my WZZM Friends and Family... (some felt it was the Epicenter the night before the election with both candidates giving final speeches in this swing state)... and during this event... we gave out flowers... to everyone we met... we didn't ask them what their favorite color was, or what TV programs they watched or (God forbid) what candidate they were voting for...We simply handed out flowers... and we got SMILES... Warm ((((HUGS)))... and feel good moments that enriched our lives and those that came in contact with the flowers... we got "Thank yous" and "Selfies" and we laughed, loved and launched flowers in every direction... "Spreading Sunshine"... in the form of Flowers- (We gave out Tulips from Sun Valley in Arcata CA)... and for that moment... we were people- "petaling it foward"... for Flowers are POWERFUL!I have so many Flower Friends... from years of Flower Conventions, Presentations, Associations, Broadcasts and TV Shows... and we may not think alike... (nor do we vote alike)... but rest assured... when it comes to Flower Power... we're All on the SAME PAGE! - That's what I love about Flowers!I was in the grocery store yesterday... checking out... and a stranger ran up and said..."You're the Flower Guy? I Love watching you... you make me so HAPPY"... and with a Smile and hug... off she went.  I won't deny that feels good... REALLY GOOD!!!We all need help now and then... and that help can come in the form of Flowers- (and Friends)... no matter what... I'm in LOVE with the Flowers... and their unique power- to help, heal, celebrate, console, enlighten, encourage - Flowers have an amazing power that is always present...When you gaze into the face of flower- you can't help but be overwhelmed... that Beautiful flower is there because of other people- and their love and dedication to flowers as a whole... Scientists, Farmers, Harvesters, Shippers, Distributors, Drivers, Handlers, Designers, Sellers and Buyers... it takes a Village to grow a flower... and the flower rewards that village and everyone it touches...  with LOVE!Thank you Flowers... for helping me-  to be Powerful... to be a source of Kindness, Joy and Love ...for allowing "the Flower Guy"...  to be the Guy that makes people happy! I'm blessed... beyond words... I am blessed because I am surrounded by Flowers... and Friends!Now more than Ever... Never Forget the Power of Flowers
