Eufloria Flowers- Nipomo California
The first Flower Farm I ever visited was Eufloria Flowers- it holds a very special place in my heart because it was the first- but also because of the flowers they grow- I've been quoted as saying "The Prettiest Roses on the Planet"... and it's even more about the people... as well as the Unique Boutique Spray Roses, Hybrid Tea Roses and Romatic Garden Roses and Spray Roses.Eufloria does things a bit differently! Owner Andy Koch is always on the lookout for something New - Different and Exciting... and that's what makes Eufloria so special! They also cater to being "Boutique" Rose Growers- that means that they are not looking to grow thousands and thousands of the most popular rose varieties- instead they are looking for something off the beaten track- that may excite because of Color, Fragrance (yes- they have roses that smell like roses) Size, Shape, Petal count or Head Count - especially when it comes to Spray roses. If you're looking for a spray rose- that looks like Chocolate- they have "Chocochino"... if you're looking for a rose that looks like a heart- they have "Lovely Hearts", if you're looking for a rose that doesn't have thorns- but is still fragrant and has star power- they have "Miss Piggy"... or perhaps you're looking for a rose- that has such incredible fragrance it can fill a room- then there's "Sweet Moments" or "Anuhea"... the latter is a rose only Eufloria Grows- because they helped develop it...My Friend Chad Nelson is the GM- (you can read more about Chad here!) - and you can read about Lily Garcia- the lady that helped set a standard at Eufloria (she's now retired) but she remembers the days when they grew Carnations - or when there were baby cribs in the greenhouses- because the kids were young- and the flowers needed tending. You can check out my musings about my Flower Friend Lily in "Fun with Flowers" my first award winning book!I've traveled to Amsterdam with the Eufloria crew- to help select new varieties- that is a wonderful amazing process... where you get to see Roses- that are not yet named- but have been given numbers- and you can see them growing- and also see data about vase life, petal count and much more.Eufloria is a hydroponic rose farm- where the roses grow in coco-fiber- and the plants are bent down to create more viable stems for production- where spray roses- grow 16-24 inches tall with 10-14 blooms per stem... where Stephanotis grows on the walls of the greenhouses- and the place where the Roses are treated with care, love and respect... from seedling to harvest. That's one of the secrets to Eufloria Flowers' unique High Quality- the staff at Eufloria have always been there- there is very little turnover- because people work there for a lifetime- it's rare that someone retires- but that is mostly how the staff changes- because Eufloria is that unique and happy place- where everyone works together for one purpose- the Love of the Roses...Kelly and I have had the privilege of being there for the celebration of Awards when Roses win blue ribbons or Best in Class or Best In Show from the Society of American Florists... (this happens frequently)... and Lily would bring make a celebration feast for everyone- and the entire Eufloria Family would celebrate- sitting, eating and celebrating together- the wonderful accomplishments (and SUPER DELICIOUS FOOD)... it's truly a family... a Family of Amazing People that grow, care for and harvest the Prettiest Roses on the Planet! You can Visit the Eufloria Flowers Website to see the Boutique Varieties of Roses...
