P Allen Smith- Horticulture Expert!

I had the incredible opportunity to meet P Allen Smith through my work with the Dallas Market Center- several years ago- the HDA- Home and Decorative Association- asked Allen to give a keynote- at the Dallas Market Center- and sponsored him for the presentation. My Friend Kristy Morgan- was the executive director of HDA- and said that Allen wondered if there was someone that give him a tour of the Market when he arrived and "hit the highlights"- so he get a good idea of all the items that were available.That duty- fell on my shoulders- and I was delighted! I had the opportunity to meet Allen and his entourage at the Dallas Market and spend a few hours touring them through the market center. That's where it all started- we became fast friends- and shared a common love of all things Horticultural- as well as Floricultural.Following the Market- Allen and I stayed in touch- and he invited Kelly and I to come to the farm to help them decorate the farm for Christmas- what a wonderful opportunity - and an amazing adventure. I was there to help the throngs of volunteers to come to help with the process- including lighting the tree- and decorating all through the house.  Moss Mountain Farms offers tours throughout the year where you can go visit and see Allen's Home for yourself- or experience the gardens, Poultry-ville- and even have lunch complete with his signature Pecan Pie... it's truly a treat... and Allen and his staff are amazing hosts.Allen also included Kelly and I in his several other events at the farm- including a Social Media Influencer Event- "Garden to Grow" where I created Flower Crowns- and helped decorate for the farm to table event- featuring foods from the farm- and vegetable garden. The question I get asked frequently is " Is Allen as wonderful and charming in Person as he is on his Television Show?" - I can absolutely say- "YES"!Allen has an incredible sense of humor- so much talent- and he's a wonderful friend. He has been so helpful to Kelly and I in navigating the Public Television process t0 get "Life in Bloom" on the air- and releases as a national show. I also love appearing on his show- and joining him for events- at the farm- we have a great sympatico- that translates well to the live presentations- and there's really nothing better than arranging flowers on Moss Mountain Farm- while Allen visits with the audience and gives Fun Flower Commentary!I've been so honored- to have a wonderful friend like Allen Smith- and helping decorate his amazing Farm for many occasions- the staff- animals, film crew and friends - I've made are treasured- and it's been so wonderful to create and enjoy flower filled memories with P Allen Smith.  Check out Allen's Youtube Channel- and watch is shows on Public Television- if you're lucky- I may be in a segment here or there with Allen.
