The Garden Gimlet Recipe #Flower Cocktail Hour
Here on Life in Bloom- we love cocktails that are both delicious and beautiful to look at. The Garden Gimlet does NOT disappoint with decorative flower ice cubes. For a fun glass suggestion- use a glass preserves jar for your cocktail glass! This cocktail used Blue African Basil from my garden - leaves are muddled and the bloom is used as a garnish. As stated I love a pretty cocktail- so I created ice cubes - that have Organic Flowers Inside them. We'll show how to do that in a future episode of Life in Bloom. The Garden Gimlet RecipeIngredients for the cocktail:3/4 Ounce (1 jigger) of Flower Infused Gin- ( I love Hendricks Midsummer Solstice Limited Edition- Flower Infused Gin)1 Tablespoon Fresh Squeeze Organic Lime Juice1 Tablespoon Pure Cane Sugar Simple Syrup6 Basil Leaves (I love the Blue African Basil for it's color and complex basil flavor- Yummy) - Reserve a leaf or two and Basil blossom for garnish.Splash of Soda Water (I like to use San Pelligrino with Bubbles)...Instructions:Muddle 6 Basil Leaves in a Cocktail Shaker- Add Gin- Lime juice and simple syrup to the cocktail shaker- and fill halfway with ice... Place top on shaker and shake vigorously for about a minute. Pour and strain mixture into a glass with Flower filled Ice Cubes- top off and finish with splash of soda water and garnish with a Basil leaf and Bloom. Enjoy!
