Flowers Make a Difference.

“I Love your program. Love your love of flowers. Very calming to watch....we all need a little "calm" today. Thanks!” – Eileen E

The impact our TV show, “J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom” is having on viewers is often profound. I have always had faith in the power of flowers, but to receive real-life examples about the effects flowers have, week after week, has been uplifting and humbling at the same time. Following are a few examples, shared with permission.Donations to The Life in Bloom Foundation may be made at this link!

“In today’s crazy world, I find that the beauty, creativity & positivity of your show brings such a lovely calmness to my day.” – Katie R.

“In today’s hectic world, it’s refreshing (and relaxing) to disconnect and just enjoy beautiful Flowers” – Barbara C.

“It's great to be able to sit down with my 5 year old granddaughter and take in the positivity, humor and beauty your show brings. Thank you.” – Judy K.

FlowersMakeDifference2As I stated, I am grateful and humbled by such responses to the show. However, on occasion, I am overwhelmed by how flowers – through “Life in Bloom” – have made such a difference in viewer’s lives. Please read the following two messages.

“I started watching Life in Bloom in 2019 while recovering from breast cancer and have been watching ever since. In fact, it pulled me through some of the most difficult times in my life and showed me how flowers can truly heal mentally, emotionally, and physically.” –Claudia D.

“I'm writing to you to thank you. You don't know me, I'm just one of many who watch your show. Over the course of late 2020 throughout 2021 I became primary caregiver for my other half. He was bed bound and needed much attention. Our world was reduced to the great room off our kitchen, where there was a big bay window, and a tv, and the kitchen right there for meto prepare meals, etc. without having to leave him. I slept in a chair next to his hospital bed.

Very small world indeed, but one of the brightest spots in it was your show. I record them still, and watched them often, enjoying the gentle nudge to look after myself a bit too. From the music to your always effervescent approach, to the actual things you made and cooked, I loved it all. And still do. I lost him in January of 2022, after 43 years together. My world will never be the same. But one thing that still helps me through is your show.” – Pam

FlowersMakeDifference5Both Kelly and I made this decision when we offered our 1st Season of 13 shows back in 2019. It made sense to gift stations this ground-breaking show about Cut Flowers. A show that teaches the health and wellness benefits of flowers, along with peaceful and comforting images, music, and inspiration. No one had ever created a Flower Arranging Show, or a show that featured Flowers as the Star. We hoped it would succeed, and offering it free of charge made good sense. We were correct, and today we reach over 93% of the entire country with a beautiful show that is well loved and very popular. We are so thankful and grateful. This has all been accomplished with the help of our Underwriters that have supported the show, whether it was for a single season, or several. We especially appreciate our long-standing National Underwriters, Albertsons Companies and CalFlowers. It's an on-going challenge to fund the show, and also to ensure that we can maximize every penny of our Underwriter funding to keep producing 13 shows each season. It is also important to keep past seasons available for free, to make sure the success of "Life in Bloom" continues to Empower and Inspire.
