Mom and Dad go Viral... Dressing Alike!!!

Who'd have ever thought that something I grew up seeing every day... and was a common occurrence in the Schwanke household... would be the subject of VIRAL News story that has traveled around the Globe...My Folks, Mel and Joey Schwanke...  have been wearing matching outfits... Technically... My Mom's Dress ALWAYS Matches my Dads Tie... and then he coordinates a Sports coat with the colors of the Dress...This has been going on for decades... it's one of the ways that People remember them...  "Your parents are the ones that dress alike".... I've heard that since I was a teenager...Recently the Local ABC Affiliate in Omaha got wind of their 64 year marriage and propensity to dress alike... and decided to send a news crew out to Fremont Nebraska to film them (and the closet)...The Story aired on KETV and then it was submitted to the 'wires' as a human interest story... that's when it went viral... My Folks have been answering the phone, giving Radio and TV interviews.. and LOVING EVERY Minute of the Spotlight...My Sister and I were discussing that somewhere... the original story got lost... as Kids we remember Dad saying that he "would pick out fabric for his Flower Ties and with the left over material he would have them make Mom a Dress... " it was his little joke...Somehow it just kept rolling... and their Dressmaker... Mrs. Hubbard Created almost ALL of the 146 outfits they have to date...  (Mrs. Hubbard lived to the age of 96... and kept making dressing all the way to the end)...To Date... I've had friends from Phoenix, Austin, Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, St. Louis, LA, Denver, Portland, Spokane letting me know they were on their local TV... Take 5 & Co here in Grand Rapids picked up the story too... AWESOME!!!They Made Good Morning America... and Live with Kelly... and friends in London, Paris and Lima Peru said they were on the TV there too... and it seems they were The Sideshow Feature Story on Yahoo...and Best Week Ever on TV...Next stop may need to be...  Fun with Flowers and J... they were on JTV... for their 60th Anniversary Celebration...
