Amanda Gilbert- Happy Henna
Amanda Gilbert is the little girl next door... she grew up in the house next door- we're neighbors with her parents. Whenever I saw Amanda playing in the yard... or going off to school ... she was always so full of joy... (maybe it's because her name is Amanda Joy... she has a thoughtful Mother!)... and she was always kind- she's traveled the world- doing spiritual retreats and most recently as an International Speaker for a women's group in India.
She was the type of girl- you wouldn't be surprised to see skipping around with flowers in her hair! Today she's all grown up- and has found her calling- with her company "Happy Henna"... she started doing "Henna tattoos" on herself- for meditative purposes- and for fun at local street fairs... then her passion turned into a business- where she offered- "Henna tattoos on Expecting mother's tummy's... and that led to self help- empowerment and sharing her gifts of love and joy to others! Amanda makes you feel good- and she's 100% Authentic... mindful and passionate- about sharing joy!
Her latest venture is her "Crowns of Courage project" You can learn more about the project - at this link! "Crowns of Courage" is a mindful, heartfelt project- that focuses on Cancer patients that are undergoing chemo-therapy. Many patients lose their hair- and this can be devastating- Hair is sometimes - linked to beauty and self esteem- so Amanda decided - she could take the loss of hair- and apply her healing art- of Henna in the form of a Flower Crown- to help the patients- regain strength, self esteem and most of all Courage!
She entered her concept in our Local Art Prize Festival- and gained city and nation wide recognition for her "Henna Art" and Passion to help others!
