Colorful Hummus- Recipe in Bloom!
Color offers us the ability to express ourselves- even in the kitchen- and today I'll share a fun way to 'dress up your hummus' with a colorful palette of choices.You can create your own hummus- use your favorite recipe- or if you're like me... I have a favorite vendor that offers Organic hummus- already done and ready... so I used that!Either way you go about it... Hummus is the starting point- and then we simply stir in different concoctions - to turn the hummus your favorite color...We'll create each colorful concoction- in a food processor or bullet blender- simply add the ingredients- and puree- and then mix into your favorite hummus recipe.Make it PINK: Roast 2 Medium beets- peeled and chopped- 1/4 cup of Olive Oil , 2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar...Blend/Puree and add to your Hummus...Make it YELLOW: 2 Medium Carrots grated- 1/2 cup of Olive Oil- 2 Tablespoons of Orange Juice and 2 Teaspoons Turmeric...Blend/Puree and add to your hummusMake it GREEN: 2 cups of Fresh or Frozen Peas, a few stems of Fresh Dill, 1 Large leaf of fresh Chard, 1/4 cup of Olive Oil, and 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice...Blend/Puree and add to your hummusMake it ORANGE: 2 Roasted Red Peppers, 1/2 cup of Olive Oil, 1 Tablespoon Paprika...Blend/Puree and add to your hummusIt's simple... and it's a fun way to add a little color to your next dinner part or event...Serve with your favorite fresh vegetables or other dipping delicacies...
