Pansy-Goat Cheese & Chive Hors d’oeuvre -#RecipeInBloom
Even your food can “wear” flowers- as long as you’re sourcing them from a no-spray source, or growing them yourself. These Goat Cheese and Chive Hors d’oeuvres with Edible Pansy Flowers are perfect for any kind of gathering.

These beautiful Flower Hors d’oeuvres are easy to create- and adding Edible Flowers to your next gathering is Exciting and Beautiful!
Pansy- Goat Cheese & Chive Hors d’oeuvres are simple and easy to make- if you don’t grow your own Pansies or organic flowers – check with your local market- my friend Kameel at Martha’s Vineyard- can get them in for me- in a few days! Other flowers can be used besides Pansy- mix it up with Violas, Nasturtium, Dianthus, or blooms from Fresh Herbs- like Basil, Mint, Sage or Thyme. I love the way the fresh dill leaves are whispy and elegant- plus they add a lot of flavor. Chive blossoms can be used when they are in season as well.
Experiment with other types of herbs- added to the Goat Cheese… instead of Chives- use Basil, Mint, Tarragon, Thyme, Sage, Pineapple Sage or even Chickory!
Ingredients:
One 8 ounce Package of Goat Cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
1 small loaf of French Bread
Fresh Organic Pansy Blossoms
Fresh Organic Dill Leaves
Recipe:
In a small bowl combine the Goat cheese and chopped chives- mix together (OPTION- you add a few drops of organic Olive oil – to making mixing easier and mixture more spreadable).
Slice the loaf of bread- at an angle- to create beautiful and tasty slices of bread
Spread the Goat Cheese Mixture onto the slices of bread
Garnish with Fresh Pansy Blossoms and small pieces of Dill Leaves
Serve immediately or refrigerate for a few hours- if you holding them- wait to place the flowers and dill – until just before serving!
Enjoy!
