This week in our Web-Exclusive Behind the Bloom Episode- I want to share just a few of the Amazing Flower Friends I made at the Lei Day Celebration at Queen Kapi’olani Park – where we filmed on May 1, 2024. Introducing Brian Choy- expert Lei Maker, Jamie Detwiler 2010 Lei Queen and 2024 Lei Judge, and Cultural Practitioner and Retired Lei Day Celebration Director Kaiulani Kauahi – these wonderful flower friends- made this celebration- so very special and today I’m sharing more of their interviews- that will be included in Episode 705- A Day For Lei- in Season 7 of J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom- premiering in April of 2024 on Public Television Stations Nationwide… These wonderful friends- are filled with so much Aloha Spirit- and helped me feel so welcome- at the Lei Day Celebration- held in Queen Kapi’olani Park on Waikiki in Honolulu. I’m excited for you to meet them- and I know that you will enjoy each of them… as much as I did… It was an Amazing Day filled with Aloha, Flowers- and Fabulous Friends!
